“My inspiration comes from my own personal experiences”

Book project

The Paul Jonkers Book Project involves the production of an English-language book to document life and legacy of the Dutch-British painter. The book will consist of a biography and an overview of the artist’s main work.

Two historians and experienced book authors will research Paul’s life, interview sources and write chapters for the book. Dr Christiaan Stam will cover Paul’s youth in the Netherlands. Jules Prast will write about his adult life in Britain (London, Wales, Wiltshire and Hampshire).

In addition, we will ask art experts to reflect on Paul’s inspiration from fifteenth to seventeenth-century Dutch and Flemish masters and on the development of his style and technique throughout a lifetime of painting.

Target publication date: 2025.

Please donate to cover production cost

The book about Paul’s life and work will be self-published (printing-on-demand). There will, however, be some upfront production cost involved, e.g. for photography of paintings, for photography-related travel, for designing the book cover and its lay-out, and for book copies to be sent to some important libraries and media in Britain, the Netherlands and elsewhere.

Therefore, we kindly request you to make a donation to the book project in order to contribute to the production cost. If the sum of the donations exceeds the production cost, we will use the remainder to lower the book price.

Please click the red donate button below. You will then be guided to a page where you are able select your language, country and currency. We thank you in advance for your generosity!
